Thinking about learnin to play a synthesizer, anyone here already play or have a synth?

when i was in my old band, i used a Korg Minilogue XD. i would say its a really good starting synth, enough to fuck around with but isnt overwhelming. also its affordable relatively speaking.
That being said, one thing i always tell people is that if you are going into playing synth using a keyboard, a lot of the actual creative aspect of synth is the sound design part. i spent more time learning scales and shit than i did actually synthesizing cool sounds
eventually i figured it out and started experimenting with some online synths and just kind of applied that knowledge to my actual synth
